Vivid Seats - Buyer Beware
10 days before Phantom, I searched online for (2) tickets. Of course, Vivid Seats popped up in the search results. I had not used them before so I thought maybe Iโd get a deal!
I wanted decent seats based on price. Seats for $200 or more, each, were available. I chose seats located orchestra right SOMEWHERE BTWEEN ROW A AND ROW UU. Essentially the entire last section to the right. I never knew where the seats were.
I assumed theyโd be good seats. My first mistake was not to use the actual venues website.
Vivid Seats made clear that they were a 3rd party resale site. I had never dealt with a site like that before (and never will again). I gave them the benefit of the doubt and continued with the sale.
I had a chance to cancel when I got an email saying that I a) would not know my seat assignment until I looked at the ticket and b) Iโd have to go to will call to pick up the tickets because they (or the seller)were unable to provide electronic tickets or mail them in time.
When my companion and I got to the venue, we went to the box office and the teller was surprised to know the name matched but the address and the order number on the tickets didnโt match. As was I.
The kicker? After fees and taxes, I paid $619 for 2 tickets for Phantom. The tickets I received had a face value of $70 each totaling $140.00.
In my opinion, they were the worst possible seats. There were only 7 rows between us and the back wall of the venue and there was only 2 a couple of seats between us and the wall to the right.
We could barely see the faces of the performers. The โchandelierโ was out of view until it was lowered.
NEVER AGAIN.
Reason of review: Pricing issue.
Monetary Loss: $300.
Preferred solution: Price reduction.
Vivid Seats Cons: Ripoffs, I got ripped off and there is nothing i can do about it.
